Winfield Mt. Union hosted their one meet of the year on Thursday at Twin Lakes Golf Course and other area teams were in attendance.

On the boys’ side Winfield-Mt. Union did the best of the area teams finishing fourth with 108 points. Wapello took home the title with 54 points. Brody Barton had a solid night finishing second with a time of 17:15. Jared Kadel cracked the top 10 in 10th and Asa Gipple was 29th.

Columbus Community finished sixth with 129 points. Marc Estrada continues to lead the Wildcats finishing sixth with a time of 17:53. Hunter Humiston finished 11th and Jesus Medrano was 24th.

Lone Tree and WACO did not record team scores but Alberto Cortes led the Lions in 32nd and WACO’s John Shriver was 28th.

On the girls’ side Lone Tree finished third with 84 points. Danville won the meet with 27 points. Macie Bopp led the way placing seventh with a time of 21:13. Sydney Alt was 14th and Natalie Patterson was right behind in 15th.

The host Wolves also had 84 points but had an overall time slower than Lone Tree so they finished fourth. Pearl Kreiger-Coble placed third overall with a time of 20:21. Cecilia Hemsworth placed fifth and Isabella Mertens was 26th.

Columbus Community’s Jenessa Carpenter was 11th and WACO’s Makenzie Shelman was 43rd.
