To be on the ballot for city council elections, nomination papers must be filed by Thursday.

So far, three candidates have filed to be on the ballot in November’s election for the Washington City Council. Steve Gault is seeking re-election in Ward 2, and Chris Gault has filed to be on the ballot for Ward 4. The Ward 4 seat is currently held by Jaron Rosien, who is running for the mayor position. Current Mayor Sandra Johnson has announced she will not be seeking re-election. Also, current at-large council member Kathy Salazar is not seeking re-election. The filing period opened August 28th and closes September 21st.
