Wapello scored early and often Friday night to shutout Columbus Community 38-0.

Offensively the Wildcats had a tough time against the Indians compiling just 165 yards of total offense. Nick Hernandez led the rushing attack with 84 yards on 16 carries. Abel Mena added 42 yards on the ground and completed three of his six passes for 21 yards. Tommy Pretz caught two of those passes for 16 yards. Hernandez was a bright spot defensively racking up team-high 14 tackles and one sack.

With the win Wapello improves to 3-2 overall as the Wildcats drop to 1-4. Columbus Community will get back at it traveling to Sigourney-Keota.
