Carrying instruments, in black uniforms and temperatures that climbed up to 90 degrees Saturday the Washington High School Marching Band claimed awards in Fort Madison and Mt. Pleasant.

The Demons took first place at Fort Madison with their Water Goblin show, where they also received top awards for their horn line, drum line, and drum major. At Mt. Pleasant, Washington placed third out of seven groups, falling short of second place by less than half a point. The Demons will next be competing at Davis County on September 30th. You can see the band perform their field show at halftime of the homecoming football game this Friday.
