With Keokuk spoiling Washington’s homecoming in 2016 you could say the Demons returned the favor on Friday night. They did all that and then some as they pounded the Chiefs in their homecoming game 63-0.

Scoring came early and often for the Demon offense as they jumped all over their district foe. It was the Luke Turner show in the first half as he got the party started in the first drive of the game throwing a perfectly thrown 25 yard fade pass to Jaivonn Willis for the quick strike. The sophomore went right back to work throwing a 60-yard shovel pass to Dalton Myers who weaved his way through traffic for the score and then the next drive connected with Myers from 59 yards out. After a pair of missed PAT’s the Demons led 19-0 after the opening period. The Demons broke things open in the second quarter when Turner threw a bomb to Willis who snagged the ball out of the air with one hand and ran in for the score. Sawyer Whisler got in on the action scoring from 54 yards out and Turner added a rushing score from eight yards to give the Demons a commanding 49-0 lead at the break. Turner finished his video game like first half with six touchdown passes on eight of 12 passing for 272 yards and ran in one more.

In the second half plenty of new faces got in for the Demons including senior kicker Anthony Torres scoring his first career touchdown on a five-yard dive up the middle. Jameson Bell capped off the scoring for the Demons on an 11-yard touchdown pass from Kolton Hinrichsen.

Myers, Whisler, and Willis combined for six receiving touchdowns for 272 yards. The Demon defense stifled the Chiefs to a remarkable seven yards all night.

With the win the Demons improve to 5-1 as Keokuk drops to 0-6. The Demons get back at it Friday traveling to West Burlington (2-4).
