The Mid-Prairie boys and girls cross country teams were back on the course Monday when they traveled to the Spartan Sports Complex in Solon.

The No. 1 Mid-Prairie girls finished second of 10 teams participating with their score of 42 points. No. 10 in class 4A North Scott won the meet with 39 points. Mid-Prairie’s Marie Hostetler was the individual meet champion with a time of 18:12. Other finishers for the Golden Hawks included Anna Hostetler second, Ana Fleming fifth, Moriah Brase 19th, Abbagail Evans 21st, Kate Cavanagh 30th and Kessa Jones 39th.

The No. 3 ranked Mid-Prairie boys were seventh out of 10 teams with their score of 165 points. Mount Vernon won the team championship with 63 points. Top finisher for the Hawks was Floyd Evans in third with a time of 16:52. Other finishers for the Golden Hawks included Zach Pettit 15th, Lucas Bontrager 46th, Miles Burrows 50th, David Fleming 51st, and Samson Kimani 63rd.

The Golden Hawks will next be on the course next week at the Clear Creek Amana meet at the Iowa City Kickers Complex.
