The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls cross country teams are back in action tonight when they travel to the Iowa City Kickers Complex for the Clear Creek Amana Invitational.

The Mid-Prairie girls enter the meet ranked No. 1 in the state in class 2A. Last time out they finished as runners-up Monday at the Solon Invitational. Marie Hostetler took home the individual championship. The Mid-Prairie girls have three ranked runners in their lineup led by No. 1 in class 2A Anna Hostetler, No. 2 Marie Hostetler and No. 13 Ana Fleming.

The Mid-Prairie boys come into the meet ranked No. 3 in the state in class 2A. The Hawks finished seventh of 10 teams at Monday’s Solon Invitational. They were led by Floyd Evans who finished in third place overall. Evans is the lone ranked Golden Hawk in the lineup checking in at No. 9 in this week’s poll.

The Golden Hawks are joined at tonight’s meet by Columbus, HLV, Vinton-Shellsburg, BGM, WACO, Winfield-Mt. Union and No. 12 in 3A Clear Creek Amana.

Action begins at 4:30 and continues into the evening in Iowa City.
