The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team is back on the floor after a week off when they host No. 10 in class 3A West Liberty Thursday at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman.

The Golden Hawks are 3-6 on the season and looking for their first River Valley Conference match win of the year to snap a five game losing streak. On the season Mid-Prairie is led by Maya Hall with 36 kills. Caitlyn Riggan holds the team lead with 112 assists and Alison Yoder leads the Mid-Prairie defense with 104 digs.

West Liberty comes into tonight’s contest ranked No. 10 in class 3A in the latest poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. The Comets are 12-2 on the season, 2-1 in the River Valley Conference. In their last match they swept Liberty High School Tuesday. On the season the Comets are led by Halle Mueller with 85 kills, Morgan Peterson has the team lead and is eighth in the conference with 276 assists. Macy Akers leads the Comet defense and is eighth in the conference with 205 digs.

These two teams met twice a season ago with West Liberty sweeping both meetings. Action begins tonight at seven at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman.
