The top ranked Mid-Prairie boys and girls cross country teams continued their dominance in the early season, capturing the team championships at the Central College Invitational Saturday in Pella.

The Golden Hawk boys took the title with a team score of 20, Pella Christian was second at 78. Mid-Prairie’s Floyd Evans was the individual champion at 16:58. Other finishers for the Hawks included Peyton Miller second, Zach Pettit fourth, Quinn Schmidt sixth, Cary Schaefer seventh, Miles Burrows 11th and Samson Kimani 16th.

The Mid-Prairie girls grabbed the team title with 17 points. Baxter was second with 55 points. Marie Hostetler took the individual title with a time of 17:59. Other finishers for Mid-Prairie included Anna Hostetler second, Ana Fleming third, Moriah Brace fifth, Abbagail Evans sixth, Kate Cavanagh eighth and Kessa Jones 11th.

The Golden Hawks will next be in action Saturday at Monticello.
