The Mid-Prairie boys and girls cross country teams held onto their spots in the week six cross country rankings for class 2A from the Iowa Association of Track Coaches.

The Mid-Prairie girls are No. 1 in the state for the fifth straight week. The Golden Hawks were the runaway champions at Monday’s Creek Classic in Iowa City, led by individual champion Marie Hostetler. The Golden Hawk girls have three ranked runners in their lineup led by Marie Hostetler at No. 1 in class 2A. This is the first time in her career that the sophomore has been ranked first. Her sister Anna Hostetler checks in at No. 2 in the state this week and Ana Flemming is No. 14.

The Mid-Prairie boys stand at No. 3 in the state in class 2A in this week’s poll. The Golden Hawks were the team champions at the Creek Classic in Iowa City on Monday. They were led by individual meet champion Floyd Evans. Evans is the lone ranked runner in the Mid-Prairie lineup, checking in at No. 9 this week. The Golden Hawks will next be on the course Monday for the Iowa Mennonite Invitational in Wellman.
