The Highland Huskies look to close out an unbeaten non-district schedule tonight when they visit class 2A West Liberty.

Highland opened the season with an impressive 36-14 week 0 win over North Mahaska. Trey Lasek accounted for more then 300 yards in the win, throwing for 191 and a touchdown on nine completions and rushing for 111 on 11 carries with two more scores. Mason McFarland had a big night with four catches for 93 yards and a touchdown. Brady Hahn also broke the century mark on the ground with 13 carries for 131 yards and a score. The Highland defense feasted on mistakes from the Warhawks, forcing five turnovers.

The Huskies have had two weeks to prepare with for the Comets, after having week one off. West Liberty comes into tonight 0-1 on the year after a season opening 35-20 loss to West Branch at the Little Rose Bowl Friday. Seth Feldman had a big night under center for the Comets, going 15 of 23 through the air for 137 yards a touchdown and two interceptions. Feldman also rushed for 63 yards and a score on the ground. Joe Kelly led the Comet rushing attack with 25 carries for 207 yards.

These two teams met a year ago with Highland hammering West Liberty 50-14. Action begins tonight at 7:30 at Memorial Field in West Liberty.
