The Keota City Council received an update on the preliminary progress of a drainage improvement project.

Aaron Gwinnup of engineering firm HR Green presented a map of where the city seeks to make drainage improvements, on Northwest Hoover Street and Northwest Baker Drive. Gwinnup says the total estimated cost of the project is $107,000 and includes a 25% contingency. HR Green conducted soil borings on September 18 and they have contracted surveyors to look at the area. They are waiting on the test results on the soil before they can start bid letting in early December. Gwinnup says they are interested in hiring a local contractor for ease and affordability with the project.
