Tuesday three vehicles were broken into in Washington, bicycles were taken from a home, and a gun was stolen.

Washington Police Chief Greg Goodman reminds residents to keep vehicles locked. He states, “From time to time we do see an uptick in car burglaries. We have experienced some lately.” Law enforcement is out each night watching for such issues, but Goodman says it is difficult to catch someone in the act. In two instances Tuesday, windows of the vehicles were smashed and wallets were taken from inside the cars. Two of these happened within two blocks of each other, near Washington County Hospital and Clinics. Lock your vehicles when they are unattended.
