A Burlington man was arrested after he was found sitting in a truck in Crawfordsville Tuesday morning.

According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 8:41 a.m. officers went to the 800 block of East Columbus Street for a possible intoxicated driver in a Chevy Silverado. One deputy responded and requested assistance with 41-year-old Thomas Niles Pruitt Jr., who was combative. Pruitt was arrested for assault on a peace officer, interference with official acts, driving while license under suspension, no proof of insurance, and invoked implied consent for refusal to provide a sample. Also, charges are pending for possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was also wanted out of Burlington for failure to appear for driving under suspension. Pruitt was taken to the Washington County Jail.
