The Mid-Prairie School Board approved the creation of a new part-time position for the district.

Superintendent Mark Schneider explained at their recent meeting the rationale for a new communication specialist. The prospective employee would work 12-15 hours per week for 44 weeks with an estimated cost to the district of $12,000 to $16,000 per year. The board moved unanimously to approve the creation of the communication specialist position not to exceed 15 hours per week. This employee is expected to work closely with the administrative team to create effective communication strategies, write content for publications and social media, and coordinate design and layouts of district written publications. An overview of job expectations and priorities of the position can be found on the Mid-Prairie board website
