The Mid-Prairie school board welcomed a new member and retired a member at their recent meeting.

Former board member and vice president Jeremy Statler received a plaque of appreciation for his time served on the board. Statler expressed what motivated him to join the board, “The reason I got on the board is because I felt very proud to be a part of this school and my kids be here. And I felt there’s been a lot of people that got us to that point to where my kids were going to reap the benefit, and it was only fair and right that I would also do my part, if I can, to help them. So it’s been a privilege to help with that.”

Statler encouraged the board members to be unafraid to ask questions. Board member Jeremy Pickard and Superintendent Mark Schneider commended him on his frequent communication and ability to ask questions of issues. Board members Jim Hussey, Gabrielle Frederick, Jodi Meader, and new member Denise Chittick all took oaths of office. Pickard was reelected to serve as president and George Schaefer was voted as the new vice president.
