The City of Mount Pleasant has approved a high-quality jobs expansion for Beck’s Superior Hybrids, Inc.

The Mount Pleasant Area Development Commission sponsored the company’s request for assistance from the High-Quality Jobs program by the State of Iowa, which provides qualifying businesses assistance to offset some of the costs incurred to locate, expand or modernize an Iowa facility. Beck’s is the largest family-owned, retail seed company in the U.S. The Mount Pleasant facility is used for seed production, drying, and packaging for Beck’s Iowa customers. This $10.9 million expansion is a five-year project expected to begin immediately, and will create 10 new jobs.
