The Sigourney-Keota football team got the monkey off their back by winning their first game of the year defeating Highland 60-13.

The Cobras looked like a team with something to prove, as Luke Greiner took the opening kickoff to the house for the early 7-0 lead. This was just the start of a huge day for Greiner as he added a rushing touchdown on the next drive and threw one more to Jack Eakins from 39 yards out. Highland’s Trey Lasek tried to keep his team in it as he cut the deficit to 21-7 on a 53-yard option keeper for a score. The Cobras continued to be relentless, as they scored off of a Huskie turnover and they started to pour it on up 34-13 after the first quarter. Greiner continued his dominance with a 32-yard touchdown pass to Eakins and then another rushing touchdown from 30 yards out. Greiner was involved with a remarkable five touchdowns to lead the Cobras to the 60-13 win. Lasek had both of the Huskie touchdowns on 130 yards rushing before being injured late in the first half.

With the win the Cobras improve to 1-2 as the Huskies drop to 1-2. Sigourney-Keota will host Regina (1-2) this week as Highland hosts Wilton (3-0).
