An opportunity for area third, fourth, and fifth grade students to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math, or STEM, outside of the classroom will be offered soon.

Registration is now open for the 4-H After School STEM Club. The October session is titled “A Long Way Down” and participants will design a parachute to learn about drag, atmosphere, and engineering variables. The November session is called “Take the Plunge” where students will learn about ocean engineering, sounding poles and sonar maps. Registration is a first come, first serve basis with a $10 fee with each session, or $5 for current 4-H members. The STEM Club is a partnership with Washington County Extension & 4-H, Lincoln Elementary, Bazooka Farmstar, and Premier 1.
