A chance for people to clear their homes of clutter before winter arrives will be held in Washington.

October 6th and 7th residents of the city will be able to drop off items at the yard waste center on West Buchanan. General junk, up to 100 pounds of construction materials, and wood or metal smaller than four feet in length will be accepted. Stickers for appliances, furniture, and electronics can be purchased in advance at city hall or at the site with cash. Hazardous waste will not be accepted, neither will tires, oil, shingles, or latex paint. The waste center will be open 3-6 p.m. on October 6th, and 9 a.m. to noon October 7th.
