Washington County’s Unemployment Rate at 3%

Washington County’s unemployment rate this August was the same as last August, one of six counties in Iowa to have the same rate from 2016 to 2017.

Ten counties saw increases in their rates, while the rest of Iowa experienced decreases from a year ago to this year. Washington County’s August unemployment rate was 3.0%. The state’s unemployment rate last month was 3.4%. In August Henry County’s unemployment rate was 3.4%, Iowa County was 2.4%, Jefferson County was 3.5%, Johnson County was 2.8%, Keokuk County was 3.7%, and Louisa County was 3.3%.
