The Washington cross country teams hosted their one meet of the year on Tuesday at the Washington Golf and Country Club.

The girls’ team placed fifth out of five teams with 96 points. Mount Pleasant took home the title with 37 points. It was another top 10 finish for Brooke Stout as she finished eighth with a time of 23:24. Ashley Telleen was the next Demon to finish in 15th and Meredith Raber was 19th. Other finishes for Washington were Hannah Rees in 26th, Peyton Cuddeback 28th, Josie Tanner 36th, Abby Voss 45th, Kellie Dallmeyer 46th, Lupita De La Rosa 53rd, and Alyona Kharitonova was 54th.

The boys’ finished fourth out of four teams with 89 points and Mount Pleasant took home the title with 37 points. Brennan Horak had a solid performance placing fifth with a time of 18:32. Evan Horak was just 20 seconds behind him placing seventh and Jacob Van Osdol cracked the top ten placing tenth. Other finishes for the Demons were Matthew Collett in 33rd, Blake Hartzler 34th, Kiowa Keith 48th, Michael Kimball 51st, David Rees 61st, Ben Loy 65th, Matteo Hernandez 71st, Caleb Tanner 74th, and Ben Schiefer 78th.

The Demons will next be on the course Monday in Wellman.
