The Wellman City Council discussed the 11th Street sanitary sewer project at their recent meeting.

Tim Cutsworth of engineering firm HR Green told the council that the project is completed and they are just waiting on final numbers from contractor DeLong Construction so they can be looked over. Cutsworth recommended a final payment to DeLong Construction. The council approved the final payment and to accept the completion of the project. They also authorized Cutsworth to assess homeowners for the project, which must be done within 30 days. City Administrator Kelly Litwiller says once the city receives the assessments, they will contact homeowners and give them the opportunity to pay in full. For whoever doesn’t pay the assessment, the city will take the assessments to the treasurer’s office where they will tax the homeowners over the next 20 years.
