The Winfield-Mt. Union cross country teams will host a meet today at Twin Lakes Golf Course.

WMU was last in action Monday traveling to Iowa City for the Creek Classic. The boys’ team finished fourth overall and were led by Brody Barton who placed 13th. The girls’ team did not record a team score but Pearl Kreiger-Coble placing fourth led the Wolves.

Columbus Community will also make the trip to Winfield. In the Creek Classic on Monday the boys’ placed fifth overall and led by Marc Estrada in 17th. The girls’ placed fourth at the meet and led by Odalyz Valdez placing 33rd.

WACO did not record team scores on Monday but Tanner Conwell finished 61st on the boys’ side and Makenzie Shelman finished 46th on the girls’.

The last area school that will be in attendance is Lone Tree. Last week at Mount Pleasant the boys finished eighth overall and were led by Alberto Cortes placing 19th. The girls’ finished fifth and Macie Bopp finished 19th.

Other schools that will be participating are Central Lee, Danville, Louisa-Muscatine, Mediapolis, Notre Dame, and Wapello.

The action gets started at 4:30 p.m. today and continues into the evening at Twin Lakes Golf Course in Winfield.
