The Winfield-Mt. Union football team hits the road tonight in search of their first win in 2017 when they travel to Wapello.

WMU is 0-2 entering play after starting the season with losses to Columbus and No. 4 Lisbon. Christian Gerot leads the Wolves passing attack at 10 for 29 through the air for 115 yards, one touchdown and one interception. On the ground for WMU, John Day leads the way with six carries for 44 yards. Graham Hagge and Juanito Piper have split 50 carries for 80 yards on the year.

Wapello comes into the matchup at 0-1 on the year after a shut out loss, 25-0 against New London last week. The Indians gave the ball away four times in the loss on two interceptions and two lost fumbles. Logan Belzer leads the Wapello passing attack at eight for 22 through the air for 135 yards through the first contest. Ricky Pforts is best on the ground for the Indians with 10 carries for 38 yards.

These two teams met a season ago with the Indians taking a 48-0 win. Action begins tonight at 7:30 in Wapello.
