USDA Allows Deadline Extension Statewide for Rye Cover Crop Seeding

After crop reports have shown that Iowa’s harvest numbers are behind the five-year average, Iowa Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) have announced an extension for farmers participating in federal assistance programs.

The story of an imaginative orphan girl who is sent to live in the fictional Prince Edward Island town of Avonlea will be brought to life as a stage musical at Iowa Mennonite School.

Description: Iowan Glenn Henriksen, an accomplished versatile pianist and organist will be performing on Sunday November 12 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Washington. The audience will hear a wide variety of music, such as classical, ragtime, blues and jazz, standards, and more. Those high school age and under can attend the concert for free. This is part of the 2017-2018 Washington Concert Association series.
