Area runners found plenty of success Thursday night at the Southeast Iowa Super Conference cross country meet in Winfield.

On the girls’ side Highland placed the highest amongst the area schools in fourth with 120 points. Pekin took home the conference title with 49 points. Leading the way for the Huskies was Taylor Sublette placing 11th with a time of 21:19. Madison Thomann was not far behind in 15th, Zoe Mahler was 24th, and Fiona Mahler 36th.

Winfield-Mt. Union placed fifth with 153 points. Pearl Kreiger-Coble had the best individual time in the area placing fourth with a time of 20:04. Cecilia Hemsworth was 12th, Isabella Mertens 44th, and Whitney Vantiger 45th.

Lone Tree nabbed sixth with 153 points. Macie Bopp was the top Lion finisher in 10th with a time of 21:17. Natalie Patterson was 27th, Sydney Alt was 38th, and Maddie Jacque 47th.

Iowa Mennonite finished 11th with 238 points. Serena Gerber had the top IMS finish in 29th with a time of 22:35. Mackenzie Gutierrez was 52nd and Rachel Geyer 57th.

Columbus Community and WACO did not receive team scores. Jenessa Carpenter led the Wildcats in 20th with a time of 22:01 and Odalyz Valdez was 48th. WACO’s Makenzie Shelman was 72nd with a time of 30:07.

On the boys’ side the host Wolves finished third with 116 points. Pekin took home the title with 63. Brody Barton headlined the action placing second overall with a time of 17:01. Jarod Kadel was sixth, Asa Gipple 22nd, and Dane Sweezer 38th.

Columbus Community finished eighth with 194 points. Marc Estrada finished 18th with a time of 18:03. Hunter Humiston was 21st, Jesus Medrano 46th, and Johnny Espinosa 47th.

Lone Tree managed 11th place with 257 points. Alberto Cortes finished 32nd with a time of 18:49. Cale Christofferson was 39th and Nick Saltzman 56th.

Iowa Mennonite finished 12th with 283 points. Levi Geyer put together an impressive showing finishing fifth with a time of 17:18. Jacob Boller was 49th and Aaron Hershberger 71st.

Highland finished 14th with 340 points. Bryan Redlinger placed 40th with a time of 19:07. Mason Manley was 61st and Jacob Roling 74th. ‘

WACO did not receive a team score but John Skriver finished 34th with a time of 18:53 and Tanner Conwell was 73rd.
