Five teams from the KCII listening area travel to Solon this afternoon for their class 1A state qualifying cross country meet.

The Iowa Mennonite boys and girls will both be in attendance. They last ran a week ago at the Mediapolis Invitational with the boys finishing sixth of nine teams and the girls at fifth of six teams. The boys were led by Levi Geyer as individual runner up. The top IMS girls finish came from Sarena Gerber in 13th.

The Columbus Wildcats were last in action October 9th when they hosted a meet at Cedar Crest Golf Course. The Wildcat boys were fifth at the meet Marc Estrada was the top medalist for Columbus. The Columbus girls were led by Janessa Carpenter as a medalist.

Highland last ran at the Mediapolis Invitational a week ago. As a team the Huskies finished in ninth of nine teams for the boys and fourth of six teams for the girls.

The Lone Tree boys and girls cross country teams were also last in action at Mediapolis. The Lion boys were eighth of nine teams. The Lady Lions did not post a team score.

The Winfield-Mt. Union boys and girls also ran at Cedar Crest in Columbus Junction their last time out.

Joining those area schools in Solon tonight for the boys are Alburnett, No. 2 Bellevue, No. 10 Calamus-Wheatland, Central Elkader, Clayton Ridge, Durant, East Buchanan, Easton Valley, Edgewood-Colesburg, Isaac Newton Academy, Kee Lansing, No. 13 Maquoketa Valley, Bellevue Marquette, MFL Mar Mac, Midland, North Linn, Postville, Prince of Peace, Rivermont, Springville, No. 4 Starmont, and Wilton. There are a total of seven ranked runners in the boys field.

Action begins this afternoon at three and continues into the evening at the Solon Nature Center.
