Baxter continued their impressive season yesterday when they downed WACO 50-20 on the gridiron.

Both teams went back and forth in the first quarter with Baxter striking first on a 37-yard touchdown pass from Devin Carson to Braydon Aker. WACO answered the next drive on a Colton Horak 37-yard touchdown scamper. After another Baxter score, WACO found the equalizer again with a Nik Coble to Horak touchdown from 46 yards out. The Bolts went right back to work scoring on a 10-yard touchdown pass to lead 22-14 after the first.

Horak scored once again early in the second quarter on a four-yard touchdown run and after a missed two-point conversion the Warriors trailed just 22-20. That was as close as the Warriors got all night as the Bolts racked up four consecutive second quarter touchdowns. The score was 50-20 at the break and lightning caused the game to be called at halftime.

Horak finished with 205 yards of total offense and the three scores to lead the Warriors. Coble was four of 14 for 70 yards and a touchdown. Horak led the defense with four tackles.

With the win Baxter moves to 6-1 as WACO drops to 3-5. The Warriors look to bounce back Friday hosting Easton Valley (2-5).
