Residents of the City of Washington can now get rid of yard waste on Saturday mornings.

The City’s waste water treatment plant and yard waste center on West Buchanan Street is open for residents to drop off yard waste and tree trimmings. The center is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, as well as 7-10 a.m. on Saturdays through November 18th. The yard waste center does not accept lumber or building materials, the general rule is “if you didn’t grow it, don’t throw it.” The yard waste center can be accessed from Highway 1.
