The Columbus Community football team finished the 2017 season with a 3-6 record.

The Wildcats had a one game improvement from last year and finished fifth in class 1A district four. Offensively Abel Mena led the Wildcats with 1,005 rushing yards, that was the fourth most in the district. The dual-threat quarterback accounted for 16 touchdowns, as he also threw for 473 yards on the year. Tommy Pretz was his main target completing 20 receptions for 269 yards and six touchdowns. Nick Hernandez put together a solid senior year with 82 tackles that was second in the district.

The Wildcats won two of their final three games of the year. They will need to reload for next season as they lose 10 seniors to graduation.
