It’s the final tune up before the postseason for the Washington (7-1) football team as they travel to face Fort Madison (4-4) in the regular season finale today.

The Demons are coming off an exciting senior night win that vaulted them into the playoffs, defeating Oskaloosa 52-41. The Demons will look to continue their dominance on the ground racking up nearly 400 yards a week ago led by senior Jack Redlinger with 194 yards and four touchdowns. Luke Turner has found his groove through the air throwing for over 100 yards in each of the last three games and at least a 60% completion rate in those contests. Despite giving up 41 points last week the defense came up huge in the second half only allowing one scoring drive. Defensively Tristin Westphal-Edwards is fourth in the district with 46 tackles, and Tanner Murphy is right behind with 45.

The Bloodhounds are seeking their first winning season in seven years and their passing game is going to be what leads the way. Similar to many teams in the district, Fort Madison will air the ball over 50 percent of the time, and quarterback Lennon Barker has completed 88 of his 182 passes for 1,190 yards and 12 scores. They do have a 1,000-yard rusher in Alex Gully who is fresh off a 350-yard night last week in their win against Keokuk. The Bloodhounds give up an average of 34 points per game.

The matchup gets started at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Fort Madison High School. Tune into KCII to listen to the broadcast starting at 7 p.m.
