Drought Conditions Lessen, Washington County Abnormally Dry

Drought conditions have continued to lessen, with less than half a percent of Iowa now in severe drought.

The severe drought area is in Warren and Marion Counties. A month ago over 11% of the state was in severe drought. According to this week’s report from the U.S. Drought Monitor, 8.7% of Iowa is in moderate drought and 28.7% is abnormally dry. All of Washington is considered abnormally dry.
