The Mid-Prairie, Keota and Winfield-Mt. Union cross country teams were recognized this week in the latest poll from the Iowa Association of Track Coaches.

The Mid-Prairie girls continue to hold the top spot in class 2A in the state. Last time the Hawks were on the course they won the championship at the Iowa Mennonite Invitational. The Golden Hawks have three ranked runners in their lineup, led by Marie Hostetler at No. 1 in class 2A. Anna Hostetler is at No. 2 again this week and Ana Fleming stands at No. 14.

The Mid-Prairie boys are ranked No. 3 in this week’s class 2A poll. The Hawks were the team champions at Monday’s Iowa Mennonite School Invitational. The Mid-Prairie boys have one ranked runner in their lineup with Floyd Evans standing at No. 9 in this week’s poll.

The Keota Eagles have Turner Klein ranked in the top 30 in the state in class 1A. Klein is the No. 20 runner in this week’s poll.

The Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves have Pearl Kreiger-Coble ranked in the top 30 in the state in class 1A. Kreiger-Coble is the No. 12 runner in this week’s poll.

Mid-Prairie is off until the River Valley Conference Championship meet October 12th. The Keota Eagles will next be on the course Thursday at Montezuma while Winfield-Mt. Union will host the Southeast Iowa Superconference Championships Thursday at Twin Lakes Golf Course.
