The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls cross country teams swept the team titles at the Iowa Mennonite Invitational at the Wellman Golf Course on Monday.

The No. 3 ranked Mid-Prairie boys finished with 45 team points, edging second place Clear Creek Amana by four. The Golden Hawks were led by Floyd Evans in second place overall with a time of 17:15. Other Mid-Prairie boys finishers included Peyton Miller sixth, Zach Pettit seventh, Quinn Schmidt 10th, Miles Burrows 20th, Marshal Teets 24th, and Cary Schaefer 41st.

The No. 1 ranked Mid-Prairie girls took the team title with 31 points. Solon was second with 75 points. Mid-Prairie’s Marie Hostetler took the individual title with a time of 18:44. Other Mid-Prairie finishers included Anna Hostetler second, Ana Fleming fifth, Kate Cavanagh 12th, Abbagail Evans 13th, Moriah Brase 14th, and Kessa Jones 20th.

The Washington Demon boys were sixth out of 11 teams with a score of 164 points. The Demons top finish came from Brennan Horak in 13th at 18:22. Other Washington finishers included Evan Horak 17th, Jacob Van Osdol 26th, Blake Hartzler 53rd, Matthew Collett 58th, Kiowa Keith 62nd, and Michael Kimball 76th.

The Washington girls were eighth of 10 teams with an overall score of 173 points. Top finisher for the Demon girls was Brooke Stout in 21st at 23:00. Other Washington finishers included Molly Sparks 33rd, Ashley Telleen 34th, Meredith Raber 46th, Peyton Cuddeback 48th, Josie Tanner 57th, and Hannah Rees 68th.

The Sigourney boys were eighth of 11 teams with an overall score of 235 points. The Savages were led by Tristan Bell in 29th at 19:20. Other finishers for Sigourney included Paul Montgomery 30th, Dawson Webster 60th, Mason Dye 61st, Jake Ives 63rd, Trace Bell 77th and Ricky Danowsky 80th.

The Sigourney girls were ninth of 10 teams with a score of 265 points. Top finisher for the Savages was Summer Barthelman in 40th with a time of 24:54. Other finishers for Sigourney included Lainey Graff 58th, Autum Barthelman 67th, Cami Thompson 69th, Megan Stuhr 71st and Morgan Clubb 75th.

The Iowa Mennonite boys were 10th of 11 teams with an overall score of 260 points. IMS was led by Levi Geyer in 15th place with a time of 18:26. Other finishers for IMS included Jacob Boller 51st, Gideon Sangare 66th, Aaron Hershberger 67th, John Hughes 79th, Gibson Lowenberg 85th and Jesse Slater 86th.

The Iowa Mennonite girls were 10th of 10 teams with a score of 275 points. IMS was led by Sarena Gerber in 43rd with a time of 25:02. Other finishers for IMS included Mackenzie Gutierrez 65th, Rachel Geyer 66th, Kennedy Roth 72nd, Greta Schrag 73rd, Meredith Blossom 76th and Ainsley Shaw 78th.

The WACO Warriors also ran at the meet but did not have enough runners to post a team score. The Warrior boys were led by John Skriver in 55th place at 21:10. Tanner Conwell finished in 69th place. The WACO girls were led by Delaney Miller in 74th at 32:03. Makenzie Shelman was 77th.
