The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk football team is looking for back-to-back wins for the first time on the year tonight when they travel to Anamosa.

Mid-Prairie is 3-4 on the season and 2-3 in class 2A district five. The Golden Hawks were a 28-6 winner a week ago over Northeast Goose Lake. Mid-Prairie got a big performance from junior Justin Schwartz, filling in for an injured Keaton Duwa at tailback, Schwartz finished with a pair of touchdowns and 198 yards on the ground. Karson Gingerich was six of 15 for 107 yards. Jason Tew led the Mid-Prairie defense with five sacks in the win.

On the season the Golden Hawks are led by Brad Tornow and Karson Gingerich who have split time under center, going a combined 49 of 91 for 678 yards, three touchdowns and seven interceptions. Their favorite target is Justin Schwartz with 24 grabs for 324 yards and a touchdown. Keaton Duwa leads the Golden Hawk ground game with 618 yards on 109 carries and five touchdowns.

Anamosa enters tonight’s game with an overall record of 3-4. The Blue Raiders are 2-3 in class 2A district five. Last week they were a 15-8 winner over Camanche on the road. Anamosa was led by Logan Seeley with 23 carries for 140 yards and a touchdown.

On the season the Raiders are led by Matthew Walton through the air at 55 of 133 for 810 yards, five touchdowns and six interceptions. His favorite target is Zac Mclean with 22 catches for 305 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground Seeley leads the Raider attack with 118 carries for 670 yards and four touchdowns.
