The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk football team is looking for their second win of the district season tonight when they host the Rebels of Northeast Goose Lake.

. Mid-Prairie fell to No. 1 Williamsburg last Friday by a 49-13 count. The Golden Hawks were led in the contest by Brad Tornow at five of 10 through the air for 64 yards. Justin Schwartz finished with 20 carries for 87 yards and a score. On the season the Golden Hawks are led by Tornow under center at 26 of 47 for 348 yards, one touchdown and five interceptions. He has been forced into action due to injuries to starter Karson Gingerich who is 17 of 29 for 223 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Gingerich has moved into the top 10 in Mid-Prairie history with his 10 career touchdown passes, tying him with 1996 grad Jake Fisher. Their favorite target is Justin Schwartz with 24 catches for 324 yards and a touchdown. Terrhyn Jacoby has hauled in a pair of touchdown passes. On the ground, Keaton Duwa is the team’s leading rusher with 618 yards and five touchdowns on 109 carries. He moved into the top 10 in school history last week with his 64 yards against Williamsburg.

Northeast Goose Lake enters tonight’s game with a 1-5 overall record. Last time the Rebels were on the field they were beaten by Camanche 20-18. Quarterback Nate Lange was 16 of 26 through the air for 163 yards a pair of touchdowns and an interception. With Lange under center the Rebels are the best passing team in class 2A district five and second best in the entire state with 1,411 yards on the season. Lange is 118 of 180 on the year with 15 touchdowns and eight interceptions. His favorite target is Dawson Stoll. The junior is the leading receiver in the district and second in the state with 40 catches for 566 yards and eight touchdowns. Dakota Stevenson leads the Northeast ground game with 73 carries for 295 yards.
