An investigation is underway for unauthorized transactions from a booster club in Washington.

According to a release from Superintendent of Washington Schools Jeff Dicks, the Stewart Booster group reported missing funds from their account. An executive board member for Stewart Boosters contacted the district with concerns and Dicks, along with Business Manager Jeff Dieleman, reviewed the records. Dicks explained, the group is “an independent non-profit organization, which operates outside the district’s legal authority.” Dicks and Dieleman confirmed what appeared to be unauthorized transactions. The issue is under further investigation by the Washington Police Department.
