The Lone Tree Lion football team left nothing to chance Friday night against the Iowa Valley Tigers.

With a win, the Lions could take out all of the guesswork, math, and tiebreaker scenarios that cost them a playoff spot a year ago, and did so, emphatically, rolling to a 77-30 victory. The Lions put up 489 yards of total offense and six different players accounted for touchdowns. Harmon Miller was nine of 13 through the air for 204 yards and a trio of touchdowns. His favorite target was Brock Smith with five catches for 120 yards and a score. On the ground Bryce Houser had 24 carries for 193 yards and a pair of scores. Other Lions in the scoring column included Keegan Edwards and Brock Smith with a pair of touchdowns, while Avery Knock and Aaron Slaughter each found the end zone once. With the win, Lone Tree is now 8-1 on the season and will be in action Friday when they travel to Midland.
