The Lone Tree Lion football team was recognized by the Associated Press this week in their final football rankings for the 2017 season.

Lone Tree checked in at No. 12 in this week’s poll. The Lions stand at 8-2 on the season and qualified for the 8-man playoffs as runners-up in 8-man district four with a 5-1 record. Other teams ranked in the top 10 of the 8-man poll include No. 1 Don Bosco, No. 2 Remsen Saint Mary’s, No. 3 Aububon, No. 4 Newell-Fonda, No. 5 Sidney, No. 6 Baxter, No. 7 Tripoli, No. 8 Grattinger-Terril-Ruthven-Ayrshire, No. 9 Riceville and No. 10 Stanton. The Lions open the playoffs Friday when they travel to No. 13 HLV.
