The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks are on the field Friday for the final time in 2017 when they host Mediapolis for Senior Night at Dwight G. Sattler Field in Wellman.

The Golden Hawks enter play at 3-5 on the season and 2-4 in the district, following a road loss to Anamosa 35-14 last week. Mid-Prairie trailed 28-0 before making a fourth quarter charge to get within two scores. Karson Gingerich was 23 of 48 for 288 yards, a touchdown and an interception. His 23 completions were second most in a single game in Golden Hawk history, the 288 yards were the fourth highest total for a single game. Justin Schwartz had nine catches for 71 yards.

On the season the Golden Hawks are led by Gingerich through the air at 46 of 92 for 618 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions. His favorite target is Justin Schwartz with 33 catches for 395 yards and a touchdown. On the ground the Golden Hawks are led by Keaton Duwa with 646 yards and five touchdowns on 124 carries. Defensively, Duwa has 37.5 tackles on the season to lead the team.

Mediapolis enters play tonight with an overall record of 4-4. The Bulldogs shut out Camanche last week 43-0. Brennan Swafford led the Bulldog attack with 178 yards and five touchdowns on 22 carries. On the season Cauy Massner is 53 for 140 through the air for 637 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions. His favorite target is Zach Osbrone with 17 catches for 192 yards and a touchdown. On the ground Brennan Swafford has 749 yards and 13 touchdowns on 122 attempts. The Bulldog defense is led by Wyatt Mohr with 73.5 total tackles including 19 tackles for loss.
