The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team picked a great time to notch their first conference win in a calendar year, during Tuesday’s opening round of the River Valley Conference Tournament.

Mid-Prairie went 1-2 on the night in Tipton, beating Northeast Goose Lake 18-21, 21-18 and 15-13. The Golden Hawks fell to No. 8 Tipton 21-9 and 21-2 and Bellevue 21-6 and 21-13. On the night Mid-Prairie was led by Maya Hall with 10 kills, Caitlyn Riggan had 21 assists and Alison Yoder finished with 37 digs. The Golden Hawks are now 5-21 on the year and advance to the second round of the conference tournament tonight at West Branch.
