The Midland football team got the best of Lone Tree Friday night defeating the Lions 52-20.

It was the Austin Smith show for the Eagles, as the senior runningback racked up 318 yards on the ground for six touchdowns. The Lions offense tried to keep themselves in the contest utilizing the ground game led by Bryce Houser with 15 carries for 74 yards and a score. Sophomore quarterback Harmon Miller finished the night six of 10 for 75 yards and a touchdown to Brock Smith from five yards out. Houser also had three receptions for 56 yards. Avery Knock led the defense with 10 tackles.

With the win the Eagles move to 7-2 as Lone Tree finished the regular season 8-2. The Lions received the second seed out of the district and will travel to H-L-V (8-2) Friday for the first round of the 8-man playoffs.
