The Columbus Community volleyball team matched up with Southeast Iowa Super Conference North-leading Pekin on Tuesday and the Panthers took care of business in three sets.

The Wildcats threatened in the first set just losing 25-22, but then fell in the last two, 25-9 and 25-10. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Anna Hamilton with four kills on 12 attempts. Courtney Zaehringer was the catalyst offensively with nine assists. Defensively Hamilton nabbed a team-high 12 digs and Maki Mendenhall had nine. Mendenhall also produced two blocks. As a team, the Wildcats connected on 37 of their 43 serve attempts and had five aces.

With the win Pekin moves to 19-11, as Columbus Community drops to 4-21. The Wildcats get back on the court today traveling to Wapello (14-8).
