Fourteen months ago dirt started to move for the addition at the United Presbyterian Home and this week the ribbon cutting will be held for the finished project.

The United Presbyterian Home is celebrating the opening of the Garrett Health and Wellness Center, as well as their 70th anniversary this Tuesday at 5 p.m. A ribbon cutting for the 20,000 square foot expansion is being held by the Washington Chamber of Commerce. The center is named in honor of Dean and Shirley E. Garrett who donated $1.65 million to the $6.2 million project. The new center includes 17 private rooms, a fitness center, and therapy pool.
