Washington County Board of Supervisors reviewed a 28E agreement with the City of Riverside at Tuesday’s meeting.

Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius presented the agreement to the board, “They want to pave two feet of the shoulders along River Street (Riverside Road when you’re in the City of Riverside) up to Pioneer Street in that general direction. So it’s two-feet paved shoulders with rumble strips. There will also be new granular shoulders in town with painted pavement edge lines.”

Thorius said there is $21,250 of the county’s Traffic Safety Improvement Program (TSIP) grant that the city of Riverside can use. The agreement states that Riverside will pay for all construction costs that exceed that amount. Washington County shall provide services of preliminary survey and contractual administration including engineering and construction inspection and staking. The board will have a resolution to formally approve the agreement at next week’s meeting.
