A $1.65 million donation was recently presented to a project in the City of Washington.
The United Presbyterian Home received the gift for their new building project. The donation was made by Dean and Shirley E. Garrett and is helping to fund the construction costs of the $6.2 million project. The couple has lived at the United Presbyterian Home since 1995 when Kerr Hall was built. The new building project has been named the “Garrett Health and Wellness Center” and includes a 20,000 square foot addition, 17 private rooms, a fitness center, warm water therapy pool, and therapy services. An open house will be held October 24th and the new facility will open to the public January 2018.
