The WACO, Keota and Sigourney boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Pekin Thursday for their class 1A state qualifying meet.

Sigourney posted the highest team finish on the boys side, taking sixth of 15 schools with an overall score of 185 points. The Savages were led by Paul Montgomery in 16th place with a time of 18:26. Other finishers for the Savages included Tristan Bell 23rd, Mason Moore 35th, Dawson Webster 64th, Jake Ives 82nd, Mason Dye 84th, and Trace Bell 105th.

Keota did not post a team score in the boys race. They were led by Turner Klein in 30th with a time of 19:03. Jayden Lawson was 77th.

WACO also did not post a team score in the boys race. The Warriors were led by John Skriver in 55th with a time of 20:44. Other finishers for WACO included Tanner Conwell 108th, and Joe Edeker 149th.

In the girls race Sigourney posted the top area team finish taking eighth of 11 teams with a score of 255 points. The Savages were led by Lainey Graff in 160th with a time of 25:13. Other Sigourney finishers included Summer Barthelman in 167th, Autum Barthelman 194th, Megan Stuhr 196th, Hannah Lucas 199th and Cami Thompson 200th.

Keota did not have enough runners to post a team score. The Eagles were led by Laurie Amos in 176th with a time of 26:32. Jenna Jaeger was 187th.

WACO also did not post a team score. The Warriors were led by Makenzie Shelman in 217th with a time of 32:12. Delaney Miller was 218th.
