After receiving positive feedback on improvements made in the last year, the Washington County Conservation Board (WCCB) is working on enhancing the Clemons Creek Shooting Range further.

Washington County Conservation Director Steve Anderson describes the project, “We’re working on replacing all of the canopy structures on the rifle range. And we’ve done the 25 and 100, and they’re functioning and everybody’s loving them. And we’re now moving on to the 50 just to finish that project.”

WCCB has already poured a concrete slab at the 50 yard range, and though Anderson isn’t sure if the project will be completed by the time the shotgun deer hunting season starts December 2, he’s confident it will be finished by the end of December. This project has been funded in part by a crop lease agreement with the Clemons Creek Park property, and individual contributions.
