This week is the start of Washington’s leaf vacuum’s cleaning duties for the season.

Those red, yellow, brown, and orange leaves will be picked up by the machine around town. Washington’s Maintenance and Construction Department will be using the leaf vacuum through November 22nd. The first part of town crews will clean is the northwest quadrant, and they’ll move in a counter-clockwise direction around the city. Residents are reminded to put leaf piles in the terrace area between the street and sidewalk. Do not put leaves in the street, as it can create drainage and traffic hazards.
